Fluster

Week from Monday 17th June 2024 - After some amount of 'PROS v CONS' pondering, and chats with various doctors and nurses to determine whether it will 'clash' with all the other meds I'm taking, today I'm accepting the 'invitation' to have my annual COVID VACCINATION. I can get it done at the pharmacy just across the road. But remembering how sick it made me last year (when they switched from MODERNA to PFIZER), I'm timing it so that I'll have a couple of 'free' days in which to recover... ANY SIDE EFFECTS?!?

- Dizzy headache, nausea (non-productive)
- Extreme tiredness
- Shivery and shaky
- Feverish (up to 100.3°F)
- Lower blood pressure
- Injection spot a bit inflamed after a couple of days

So not so bad this time around, the latest flavour being MODERNA 'SpikeVax®'. I mainly just zonked out for about a day-and-a-half, as the various reactions came and went...

"UNKNOWN PLEASURES" was released exactly #FortyFiveYearsAgo. Imagine that, hoodathunkit!?

Having earlier expressed an interest(?) in the music of ANTONÍN DVOȒÁK, I was pleased to see that he is currently the subject of Radio Three's "COMPOSER OF THE WEEK" programmes (all of the week), so I'm able to explore further and find out a bit more about him (like the fact that he was a keen TRAINSPOTTER!).

NEW ZAPPA! The three-disc set of "WHISKY-A-GO-GO 1968" has just landed on the doormat, so I'm setting aside (at least) a goodly three-and-a-bit hours of Sunday for some serious(???) headphone listening! (Great fun on first hearing, although some of the more knockabout stuff might not bear too much repeated play! For me, the real meat'n'taters are the extended jams on disc three...)

Week from Monday 24th June 2024 - I'm somewhat flustered at the moment, having a couple of ridiculously early HORSE PICKLE appointments to deal with. On top of which, my laptop have suddenly stopped communicating with my printer! No doubt something has gone awry with the latest batch of system updates (Firefox can't even connect to localhost:printers, which MIGHT be a dead giveaway.) But I'm far too tired and sore to deal with it at the moment! ZzZzZzZz
I'm probably going to have to re-install some things when I have the time and inclination to do so... The "ridiculously early" Friday appointment means that I'm spending a great deal of Thursday getting things ready that I won't have time to do in the morning (I won't even have time for breakfast at this rate!)

I set aside the whole of Saturday to FIX my printer kerfuffle, but I didn't need it all 'cos the first thing I tried (at half past seven in the morning) SOLVED the problem straightaway. As I suspected, something had got screwed up last time I did the sudo apt-get update thang. UPDATE MANAGER to the rescue! Now I've got the day free to do the 'new' CAN release that's been sitting on my harddrive!
