Week from Monday 13th October 2025 - Monday Doing Sunday Stuff... Tuesday Doing Monday Stuff... Having lost a day to VAX FEVER, everything is running late this week. One bit of good news and one less thing to worry about... Due my pressing medical schedule, I've now been excused that JURY SERVICE that was causing me additional anxiety. I still keep getting bulk emails reminding me that my civic duty is imminent, but I now have it in writing that I don't need to go!

On Friday, I went to the ELF CENTRE to get some fairly comprehensive BLOOD TESTS done, ahead of my chat with the KIDNEY PEOPLE next week. I arrived nicely and promptly, as is my wont, but there was a cock-up with the booking! So I had to make myself scarce for ninety minutes until I could be seen. But this time I didn't need to do the "PATIENT WAITING" bit. I went for a wander around several CHARITY SHOPS instead...

Week from Monday 20th October 2025 - Nothing new to report from my conversation with the RENAL DEPARTMENT. Although my kidney functions are still somewhat compromised and I'm still technically ANAEMIC (and will probably remain so for the rest of my days), things are described as "STABLE". So that's okay then...

On Wednesday, I took myself and a zipdrive down to the PRINT SHOP, to run off a batch of covers for some recent BANDCAMP downloads/cum/CD-Rs. I also went poundlanding for some day-to-day supplies (highlighter pens, paracetemols, cough sweets).

On Friday, I have my expensive appointment with the DENTAL HYGIENIST. In for a penny, bla bla bla, I might as well have a damn good scrape and polish from the hundred pound TOOTH FAIRY while we're at it...

There were a couple of new releases gleaned off of the BANDCAMPS this week. Firstly, the eagerly awaited new one from wee FERGUS McCREADIE and the lads... and then an interesting collection from sometime BANG-ON-A-CAN clarinettist EVAN ZIPORYN, who has teamed up with the Canadian chamber ensemble CONTAQT to reinterpret some FRIPP/ENO/BOWIE repertoire. The album is called "ART DECADE", named after a Bowie tune which ISN'T on there! Some of it works, some of it doesn't. There are two fairly faithful King Crimson covers, which really seem to belong on a different record altogether. The sequence of 'songs' from Bowie's "Heroes" ("Sense Of Doubt" > "Moss Garden" > "Neuköln") is the highlight. These are bookended by versions of "Not Yet Remembered" (from one of the Brian Eno/Harold Budd collaborations) and "Evening Star" (from Fripp & Eno's second offering). Elsewhere, ContaQt's version of Eno's "DISCREET MUSIC" is also worth a listen, but I thought it went on for far too long. So one of those famous customised MINTMIX CDs is in the offing...
